Church Guidelines for Prophesying, Praying, and Speaking in Tongues, Part 8

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 14:18-23

Today, we will continue looking at the final application of the Biblical teaching regarding speaking in tongues. While some say that the gift of tongues was rescinded after the early church, others believe that the gift persists until this day. Some have prayed in tongues and others claim to speak in tongues in church. Only God knows whether a person's speaking in tongues is legitimate or not. But, the Bible does provide us with guidelines that govern the use of tongues in the church and in our personal life. Speaking in tongues should always be superseded by understanding, edification, and interpretation in public and in private.
