TEXT: Revelation 22:1-7
Verses 6 and 7 of our passage begin what commentators have called the "epilogue" of Revelation. From here on out, John affirms the message that he received from Jesus and challenges saints to live in light of "the things which must shortly be done." Dr. Ed Hindson writes, "The concept of 'witness' or 'testimony' is central to John's writings. The combination of 'faithful and true' appears four times in the Revelation. The threefold witness of the angel, John, and Jesus is intended to assure the reader of the validity and authenticity of the prophecy of the Revelation. It is this assurance that will be necessary to encourage future believers to hold true to their testimonies."
