Bomb Kills 90 in Afghanistan Capital (UCNN 05/31/17)

1. Reuters - A powerful bomb hidden in a sewage tanker exploded in the morning rush hour in the center of the Afghan capital on Wednesday, police said, killing at least 80 people, wounding hundreds and damaging embassy buildings.

2. Chicago Tribune - Shootings over the Memorial Day weekend left 7 people dead and another 45 wounded in Chicago, a sharp drop from last year, though almost half of this year’s victims were shot the last night of the weekend. 

3. Reuters - The Vatican said it had scrapped tentative plans for Pope Francis to make a visit this year to South Sudan, which has been hit by civil war, famine and a refugee crisis.
