Our Ordained Chaplains Scripture Verse for today is Luke 6:38 which reads, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

Our Ordained Chaplains quote for today is from Richard Cecil. He said, "To love to preach is one thing to love those to whom we preach, quite another.”

In this podcast, we will continue discussing the book “Out of the Depths” by Anton T. Boisen. We continue today with “The Call to the MInistry: Years of Wandering” (Part 15):

Thus it came to pass that in June, 1911, we set forth on bicycles, each armed with a lengthy questionnaire dealing with all phases of rural economic, social, and religious life and with the distribution and activities of churches and schools. In order to find the answers to some of these questions, I drew upon my forestry experience and made use of the sample-plot method. I chose a number of representative school districts, and with the aid of trustworthy informants I made a list of persons over twelve years of age, together with information regarding their health, education, occupation, church affiliation, and church attendance. I also questioned the church leaders regarding what they were trying to do. Fred stuck more closely to the questionnaire.
