PROPHECY BOOTCAMP: Our topic for today is titled "From Tribulation to Jubilation (Part 5)" from Dr. Ed Hindson's book "Revelation: Unlocking the Future."

DIVINE WRATH & GREAT TRIBULATION

The fact that "God shall wipe every tear from their eyes” indicates that the vast multitude of believers seen in John’s vision have suffered greatly on earth. The Great Tribulation refers to that eschatological period of God's wrath. It is not merely the persecution or “troubles” of John's own time, but a time of future global retribution, called in Revelation 3:10 the “hour of testing," and in Revelation 6:16, "the wrath of the Lamb.”

Understanding the nature of these judgments is crucial to one's interpretation of the Apocalypse. If the judgments of the Tribulation period are something less than divine wrath, one might better argue for the Church remaining on earth during the Tribulation. But there are two glaring contradictions to that viewpoint: 1) This is divine wrath; 2) The multitude is already in heaven, but the Tribulation judgments are not yet finished.
