Evangelism Is...Reaching People Through Relationships (Part 3)

Stage 2: Survey Your Relationships
In this stage Christians are encouraged to examine their circles of relationships in order to identify individuals in need of Christ's love and salvation. Until we survey, we may not realize how many people God has put within our reach. Once we start to identify these individuals, we should gather basic information that will guide both our prayers and efforts to reach out to them.

Stage 3: Work With God Through Prayer
Prayer is not just a warm-up exercise before you do your spiritual work but intimate fellowship with a holy God who desires close and frequent prayer time with His children. Through these intimate times you will gain the wisdom and discernment to recognize opportunities for making disciples. According to Thompson, working with God through prayer will teach you to pray "that God engineers circumstances in the lives of others to draw them to Himself and to his Son Jesus Christ....You will pray about the people in your survey and watch to see where God is working in their lives. When you become aware of those needs that will be your invitation to join God and show his love to the needy person."

Stage 4: Build Relationship Bridges to People
