PROPHECY BOOTCAMP: "The Glorious Appearing (Part 5)" from Dr. Tim LaHaye
The rider on the white horse is to be distinguished from the rider on the white horse in Revelation 6:2, who will be the Antichrist. The present rider, with eyes “like a flame of fire,” can be none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. The significance of the white horse is typical of the difference between this coming and Christ’s first coming. While on this earth, our Lord fulfilled Zechariah 9:9, entering Jerusalem humbly on a lowly beast of burden. Now His humiliation is done away with and He will come in glory on a white horse, a symbol of victory, power, and glory.
Even more significant than what our Lord will do at His coming is how He is described -- here, we see His eternal nature revealed. “Faithful and True” presents our Lord as a contrast of the unfaithful deceivers of mankind, Antichrist and Satan. At the time of His return, our Lord will have faithfully fulfilled all of His prophecies up to that point, and “in righteousness” He will mete out judgment.
When Christ comes as the righteous warrior, He will be invincible. He will consume all before Him, all who stand in opposition to Him, and bring every person into subjection to Himself...
