PROPHECY BOOTCAMP: "Not Really So Obscure (Part 5)" from Dr. Tim LaHaye

The Pre-tribulation Rapture in One Book

The book of Revelation was written by JOhn about 50 years after the Lord founded His church and ascended to heaven. In it John not only revealed Jesus Christ in His present and future state, but he also gave an outline of the “things which take place after this.” The book begins by describing events in John’s day and takes us all the way to the coming of Christ in power and beyond.

Chapter 1 is the introduction, and chapters 2 and 3 cover the church age. Seven historical churches are used to describe the entire church age. For example, the church of Ephesus is the only one that refers to the apostles, because that first-century church was the only one that had apostles in it.

Chapters 4 and 5 describe scenes in heaven. Then, as we have already seen, chapters 6 to 18 give the most detailed description of the events of the Tribulation to be found anywhere in the Bible. In chapter 19, Christ comes physically to the earth and judges the Antichrist, the False Prophet, and the nations. In chapter 20, he binds Satan in the bottomless pit. He then sets up His 1,000-year kingdom on earth, followed by the judgment of the lost of all ages...
