PROPHECY BOOTCAMP: "Why Studying Bible Prophecy is So Important (Part 9)" from Dr. Tim LaHaye

Fulfilled Prophecy Credentials the Second Coming of Christ

Dave Hunt, a highly respected member of the Pre-Trib Research Center, wrote recently, “Faith is founded upon facts: Scripture, history, and prophecy, all of which are a matter of clear record and none of which can be changed.” These facts cannot honestly be denied. God does not expect us to believe without reasons for our faith. Faith is not like a viral infection that seems to strike some people and bypass others. It is based on fact -- facts that are documented in the Bible, supported by historical evidence, and confirmed by fulfilled prophecy. That is why God can say in His Word, “Come now, and let us reason together.” God wants us to use the reasoning powers He has provided to us through creation and birth.

As a pastor for 37 years and an itinerant preacher for another 23, I have observed that the more of God’s Word a person has in their heart, the greater their faith. And we should not be surprised by that, for Scripture says, "faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
