So far, we have looked at the topics of trusting God from the life of Abraham and loving God from the life of the Apostle John. Today, we are going to look at the topic of fearing God from the life of Job.

We all are familiar with the story of Job. He was the good man who was blessed of God with a large family, great wealth, and abundant possessions, and he had it all taken away from him in one day because the devil wanted to get him to turn against God. We know, of course, that Job did not turn against God. But, he went through an immense amount of pain and suffering because God was allowing the devil to test him. A preacher was talking about Job one day, and he said, "I can imagine Job saying to God, 'God, I appreciate You bragging about me, but please don't mention my name anymore while Satan is standing around.'" I'm sure that's how many of us would feel if we were in Job's position.
