TEXT: 1 Thessalonians 1:1-4

Last week, we looked at three things we ought to remember about the rapture from the book of Thessalonians. These things are an encouragement to us as we look forward to the day when Jesus Christ will return to gather his church. Paul wrote the epistle to the Thessalonians in order to respond to some concerns the believers in Thessalonica had about the rapture. In this letter, Paul also encourages the believers in other areas, warns them against allowing sin to enter the church, and helps them to understand how they should live in light of the soon return of Jesus Christ. We can also gain encouragement and instruction from Paul's letter to the Thessalonians on how we ought to live as we await the rapture.
