Our prayer motivator verse from the Word of God today is Matthew 14:23 which reads: "And when he [Jesus] had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone"

Our prayer motivator quote today is from Gordon B. Hinckley. He said: "Let us never forget to pray. God lives. He is near. He is real. He is not only aware of us but cares for us. He is our Father. He is accessible to all who will seek Him."

Our prayer motivator devotional today is part 22 of our series titled "HINDRANCES TO PRAYER" from Dr. John R. Rice.

When the wicked jailer at Philippi came trembling to lead Paul and Silas out of the wrecked jail following the midnight earthquake, he was wonderfully saved by simply believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. And the same night, with scarcelyan hour gone by, we suppose, he saw every member of his own family wonderfully converted. Do you know why? It was not simply because he was saved. Some of you who read this have been saved 10, 20, 30 years. Yet you wives cannot win your own husbands. You parents cannot win your own children. But that poor, wicked jailer won every person in his household before morning --- that same night. And I will tell you how he did it.

First, he took Paul and Silas the same hour of the night and washed their stripes and then was baptized. It was a wholesale turning of his life over to God in public profession and declaration.
