Our prayer motivator verse from the Word of God today is Matthew 14:23 which reads: "And when he [Jesus] had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone"

Our prayer motivator quote today is from Oswald Chambers. He said: "We tend to use prayer as a last resort, but God wants it to be our first line of defense. We pray when there's nothing else we can do, but God wants us to pray before we do anything at all. Most of us would prefer, however, to spend our time doing something that will get immediate results. We don't want to wait for God to resolve matters in His good time because His idea of 'good time' is seldom in sync with ours."

Our prayer motivator devotional today is part 21 of our series titled "HINDRANCES TO PRAYER" from Dr. John R. Rice.

I long to see the kind of Christian lives that prove honest repentance! Zacchaeus, converted as he slid down a sycamore tree to face Jesus, made sudden high resolves that showed that he meant business. Luke 19:8 says, "Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold." He meant that beginning that very moment he would try to make right the wicked sins of his career as a crooked tax-collector. No wonder that Jesus said, "This day is salvation come to this house."

Oh, what zeal we ought to have about making wrongs right!
