Our prayer motivator verse from the Word of God today is Romans 8:26-28.

Our prayer motivator quote today is from Cameron V. Thompson. He said: "Once a poor soul entered the school of prayer after his arrival in hell. He asked for relief from his agony; it was refused. He asked that a beggar warn his brothers; he was turned down. He was praying to Abraham, a man; he could not locate God. He dared not ask to get out; he plainly knew that he was beyond all hope. Prayerless on earth, unanswered in hell, he suffers on as the man who tried to learn to pray too late."

Our prayer motivator devotional today is part 12 of our series titled "HINDRANCES TO PRAYER" from Dr. John R. Rice.

Husbands, too, have their prayers hindered if they do not deal scripturally with their wives.

Husbands are (1) to dwell with their wives "according to knowledge." that is, based on an understanding of the Scriptures relating to husband and wife. (2) "Giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel," and (3) "as being heirs together of the grace of life." Husbands, then, should take the place accorded them in Scripture as heads of the home, high priests unto God, responsible for the home and for the children --- like Joshua who said, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord," for "the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church" in Ephesians 5:23. In Genesis 3:16, husbands are to "rule over" their wives. A husband who does not dwell with his wife according to knowledge of the plain command of Scripture is likely to have unanswered, hindered prayers.
