Israel refuses to rule out Gaza ground operation. According to The Telegraph, Israel refused to rule out launching a repeat of its 2008 ground operation in Gaza after days of cross-border violence escalated with an intense barrage of rocket fire onto Israeli territory. 

Christians in Tanzania threatened by Islamic extremism. According to Assist News Service, since the mid-1980s, itinerant preachers from Saudi Arabia and the Sudan have been entering Tanzania and spreading intolerant, fundamentalist Islam. Consequently, Muslims are becoming more assertive in their political demands and more aggressive in their verbal attacks. After an incident in which a Christian boy allegedly defiled the Quran, Muslims set fire to churches and laid siege to the police station demanding that the boy be handed over so he could be beheaded. 

Israeli-Arab leader calls on Muslims to "liberate" Jerusalem. According to Israel National News, Sheikh Ra-ed Sa-lah, leader of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel, has once again urged the Muslim world to unite and work toward the liberation of Jerusalem from "the Israeli occupation." Speaking from Saudi Arabia, Salah said that the message from "Palestine" to Muslim pilgrims from around the world highlights the importance of unity so that the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem can be returned to the fold of Islam.
