Iran plans more military exercises in face of possible Israeli strike. According to The Telegraph, Iran will stage massive maneuvers next month in a muscle-flexing show of preparedness to combat a US or Israeli aerial bombardment on its nuclear installations. The exercise is being showcased as the biggest air defence war game in the Islamic Republic's history and will be Iran's most visible response to mounting speculation that Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, may order a military strike this autumn.

Christians in Egypt face mass slaughter threats from Islamists. According to World Net Daily, the Coptic Christian community in Egypt is now under threat of mass slaughter from Islamists under the pretense of revenge for a movie that depicts Muhammad in a negative light. The producers of the "Innocence of Muslims" movie are reportedly tied to the Coptic faith. An Egyptian military official said that Islamic groups are threatening to slaughter "the whole Christian Coptic community" in the city of Na-ja Ha-ma-di, located about 60 miles from Cairo. Na-ja Ha-ma-di contains a large Coptic community.

A top Iranian commander says 'nothing will remain' of Israel if it attacks Iran. According to the Associated Press, The top commander of Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard has warned that "nothing will remain" of Israel if it takes military action against Tehran over its controversial nuclear program. Gen. Mohammad Ali Ja-fa-ri said Iran's response to any attack will begin near the Israeli border. The Islamic Republic has close ties with militants in Gaza and Lebanon, both of which border Israel.
