Israel boosts its missile interceptor system to combat Iranian threat. According to Agence France-Presse (AFP), Israel has improved the accuracy of its Arrow 2 missile interceptor system, including its ability to intercept medium-range missiles present in the arsenals of Iran and Syria. The new system, known as "Block 4," will be installed in missile batteries in the coming weeks.
Syrian opposition says Iran is sending thousands of fighters into the country. According to the Times of Israel, Iran is sending thousands of fighters to help the Bashar Assad regime in it's ongoing conflict with rebel forces. Col. Abdul-Jabbar Mohammed A-qi-di, a commander of Syrian rebel forces, said that 3,000 Iranians had already entered the country within the last week. The Iranian government denied the report yet continues to support the Assad regime.
A Muslim riot leaves an Egyptian village without any Christians. According to The Associated Press, the village of Dah-shour's entire Christian community -- as many as 100 families -- fled to nearby towns amid violence this week. As an angry mob was rampaging through town, the flock's priest was smuggled out of the village in a police van. At least 16 homes and properties of Christians were pillaged and some torched and a church damaged. The unprecedented exodus underscores how sectarian divisions are taking a turn for the worst, complicated by the problems of post-revolution Egypt, a country where 10 percent of the population are Christian.
