More than 5,500 people flee after Muslim attacks on Christians in Nigeria. According to The Angola Press, the Red cross has stated that more than 5,500 people fled their homes after attacks this month on mainly Christian villages in central Nigeria. The violence in the villages in Plateau state "caused dozens of casualties and forced more than 5,500 people to flee their homes. Over 25 villages were affected." The humanitarian organisation said it was now providing food and other essential items to more than 2,800 displaced people.
Christian missionaries are trapped in Burmese crossfire. According to Christians in Crisis, Christian Aid Mission is sending emergency aid to help rescue 17 native missionary families on nine mission stations who are suffering hunger and disease after weeks of bloody violence. Fighting between two unreached people groups has slowed along the Burmese border with Bangladesh, allowing some aid to get through to the Christian villagers and missionary families trapped in the crossfire between Buddhists and Muslims.
