My prayer is that you are doing well and that you have never experienced some of the terrible things that we so unfortunately, and so often, hear about in the news today, such as rape, teenage pregnancy with the father leaving you behind to carry the load, sexual abuse by people you trusted, etc. Quite frankly, I do not know how people cope with such things, without the grace of God. But if you have experienced such a traumatic thing in your life, there is hope and there is help.

One of the amazing things that I have learned in life is that God has given each of us special gifts and callings to be a blessing to others, such as: the gift of mercy, the gift of administration, the gift of giving, the gift of evangelism, and the gift of prophecy. Well, my gift is the gift of prophecy. Many people think today that the gift of prophecy is just about predicting people's future, etc. But the gift of prophecy is more about preventing problems in the first place; this book is more about prevention, than it is about recovery. My goal is to get you to the point where you never put yourself in a position to be hurt in the first place—a position of power and liberty.

But if you are hurting right now, we have some help for you. "There is a balm in Gilead." We have included in the book "LETTERS TO YOUNG BLACK WOMEN" a list of ministries that can help you cope with, and recover from whatever you may be going through. The Motherboard in the back of the book will help you get back on your feet and be the conqueror that God wants you to be.

Hold on, dear sister, help is on the way,
