Russian president is boosting military ties with China. According to Reuters, Russian President Vladimir Putin said he will boost military cooperation with China, including holding more joint exercises, after the United States announced plans to shift most of its warships to the Asia-Pacific region by 2020. Putin referred to recent Sino-Russian joint navy exercises in the Yellow Sea as an example of military cooperation which he said would go on. Putin told Chinese vice-president Xi Jin-ping that their countries "will continue cooperation" between their militaries.

Israeli military strikes 2 weapons facilities in the Gaza Strip. According to the Jerusalem Post, the Israeli Air Force attacked two weapons storage facilities in the northern and southern Gaza Strip. The IDF said that the attack was in response to recent rocket fire emanating from the Strip aimed at Israeli civilians. A spokesman confirmed that its planes registered direct hits on their targets and returned safely to their bases. He said, "The IDF will not tolerate attacks on Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers and will continue to act against terror organizations threatening Israel."
