       I was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost in Grand Prairie, Texas over 30 yrs. ago. I always had a heart for souls and every missionary service my heart would break to pieces. Very early in my experience in the Lord, there was a strong singing and testifying anointing on my life, but I would not really confess to being a woman preacher, when other visiting preachers asked me, but I would not deny it either. I would just smile. You see, I came out of the old school where the women always were subjective (still believe this way) and if there was a preacher in the family, it would be the man. However; Gods anointing continued to touch and bless my life, tho my husband was not saved. I prayed and cried and begged God to save him, and alas the prayers were answered. Somehow after he was saved and called to preach, I felt more of  liberty to obey God myself as a woman preacher.                                                                                             
       Time went on and we were offered our first mission work in Missouri....no running water, no tithes, just an outhouse and 7 people! It did not sound like much to the mortal ear, but it was a heavenly sound to me! Long story short, God blessed abundantly! Many were saved, filled with the spirit, delivered, etc. over a period of 2 yrs and averaging 75 people, running water with modern facilities ....and God said it's time to go. Somehow I always felt leaving it up was much better than leaving it in a low state, tho we hated to go, it was the Lords time. Later I discovered my husband had been having an affair, which almost killed me,but I knew Gods mercy had to be shown to him. He turned around again and as time went on and God opened the doors for us to pioneer a missionary work right on route 66 parallel to I44 we were both fired up and ready to serve! For 25 yrs God worked miracle after miracle, many many souls were saved, delivered,healed, and filled with the Holy Ghost...all recorded in our Lords great records! But the down side I would later learn, my husband had been living a double life for years. He even used various names with his affairs. He was deep into the "ads" divorced, loving, seeking a permanent relationship" etc but sad to say he was never and still is not able to be faithful to one woman! His wife whom he was having an affair with while we were married just recently learned that he has been unfaithful to her for nearly 2 yrs. but I am certain...far more than that.
       God brought me thru cancer, I have been thrown out of cars, nearly died of being overcome with carbon monoxide fumes..the list goes on how since a young person the devil has tried to take me down and out! I can not praise my Lord and Saviour enough for putting a protective hedge around my life all these years and that of my 2 precious girls who both married chaste Godly men while keeping themselves pure and praying since a very young age for the right one in their lives..I wanted them to have Gods blessing on their lives and not have to go thru what I did, and God gloriously honored them. Kimberly, my eldest married an evangelist so they were on the road for several years til the babies started coming and they settled into pastoring(ha settled in like it was a breeze huh?)ha I know as my husband ended up leaving God, the church, and the family..in that order..and once again God in His omnipotent power raised me above it all, added strength thru the heartbreak of it all, and made me a better person in every way! God was my source of strength, wisdom, endurance, love, and devotion and enabled this woman preacher to step up to the wheel on the ole ship of zion (Gods church and His people) and be willing and obedient to follow on and literally leaned on HIM to do it all, so the ship (Gods work) would not go under!To sum it all up..GOD DID IT! and when it was all said and done after years of service for Him and loving all the people who came our way, whether to stay or just passing by in need of food, gas, prayer, a good service or what....I found out when God released me there that so many many people in the community had been watching closely all those years to see if this woman preacher and family were going down with my husband...thank God He was building a stronger hedge all the while about us...and through it all men were indeed to glorify Him in it all! I worked with the ministerial alliance in Sullivan for the last few years and they made me as much a part of the community and church functions as any man pastor for which I will ever be grateful for their humble loving and receptive spirit to recognize my call as well. I yet am humble to the work of our men folks and truly believe God calls out the man but as in my case...the man abandoned the ship and tho it could have gone shipwreck my Lord raised me up and I will ever love and praise Him for all His faithfulness thru those years up to the present time! Soon as I arrived in Mt Airy after God releasing me of nearly 30 yrs in the pastoral/missionary work in Missouri, God has not only allowed Beacon Of Hope Ministries to move on in the radio ministry here every week now for nearly 3 yrs, but preaching, teaching, and as always..singing His words in this new community....where needless to say has been quite a transaction for a 63 yr old grandmother of 8 grandchildren! For soooo many years I could only talk to my grandchildren by phone, and see them on holidays being up to 1,000 miles away, but now I am enjoying quality time with 3 of them here in Mt Airy where my daughter Charity and her husband Preston are music ministers and praise and worship leaders and so much more! Tho I am so blessed to have my treasures around me now close by, my heart is ever searching and longing to as my prayer song is: KEEP ME IN YOUR WILL SO I WON'T BE IN YOUR WAY..Well brother, this is a part of my story, and I trust it will help you know more about me and my ministry and especially how faithful our Lord has been to this Oklahoma red neck country girl! By the way, I am also the founder and president of BEACON OF HOPE MINISTRIES...Like the old song goes: WITHOUT HIM I WOULD BE DYING, WITHOUT HIM I'D BE ENSLAVED, WITHOUT HIM LIFE WOULD BE HOPELESS, BUT WITH JESUS THANK GOD I'M SAVED!
