Sorry about the background music, folks. Wow, if it wasn't for a caller named Mark, calling in, I would have gone the entire show with the background music drowning me out. Even afterwards, I kept putting it up too high. Oh well, chalk this one up to experience. I'll have to work on that.
In honor of LIVE EARTH happening all day today, I asked three questions in my GOOGLE CHALLENGE;
Mark got all three right and won two premium guest passes to the Brookfield Zoo. I asked those questions because I discussed the effectiveness of these all-day, multi-venue charity concerts. Nine times out of Ten, people I speak to, can't remember what the concert was for. The thing I remember most about Live8, was the Pink Floyd reunion.
I also discussed the fact that I went to this week's 4th of July celebration without a camera! This is one of, if not the first, family event I attended without a camera or video camera. I don't even think I brought my phone, which has a built-in camera. I felt so naked and incomplete, however, I have to admit, I had a lot of fun. Especially without having to worry about picture-taking. I did feel a little empty the next day though, without pictures of the event to look at. Do you carry a camera with you, everywhere? Ever since my first child was born, I've taken thousands upon thousands of digital pictures. In a future show, I'll discuss my method for keeping all of these pictures organized and safe.
In the technology segment I reiterated the need for an antivirus, two antispyware, firewall, and disk defragmenting software. I went into detail about what a disk defragmenting program is, and why you need it! Especially if your kids use your computer! I suggested using Diskeeper Pro defragmenting software, I use Panda Antivirus/firewall/antispyware/anti-phishing, etc..... I also suggested using Lavasoft Adaware anti-spyware, Spybot Search and Destroy anti-spyware (both are free), and if you want to spend a little money, I also like BulletProof software's antispyware and Spyware Doctor.
FORGET BULLETPROOF SOFTWARE'S anti-spyware, for now. Apparently, they may have gone downhill since I used to use them. Stick with the other three suggestions for now.
Thanks! Stay tuned for the NEXT SHOW!
