As the sole owner of Divine Intervention Mgmt./PR, I conduct business in Artist Management, Consulting, Promotion and PR. Currently, I perform exclusive management for Jay King (founder and member of Club Nouveau), and I am the co-producer of Jay's BlogTalkRadio show, "The Way I See It." I perform PR duties for international Jazz artist Chantz Powell and serve as the PR/Entertainment Advisor for Raphael Louis (future candidate for Prime Minister of Canada); As a consultant, I advise R&B vocalist, Jimmie Wilson (Germany), rappers SumCash (LA) and Hayon Tha Innovator (Sacramento), and I have done consulting for Contemporary Jazz vocalist Lisa Deveaux (LA).
During my work with the Grammys, I co-coordinated both the Jazz Appreciation Month event featuring visual artist, Billy Dee Williams, and the 2003 Grammy Week "Soul II Soul" event honoring Santana, Ike and Tina Turner, Roberta Flack, Wilson Pickett, The Staples Singers, The Voices of East Harlem, and Les McCann and Eddie Harris in commemoration of the 1971 historic, first-time journey to Ghana, West Africa by American recording artists to perform onstage with African artists.
At Capitol Records, I worked in Promotions on projects for Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, Garth Brooks, Bonnie Raitt, Joe Cocker, Dave Koz, Everette Harp, Rachelle Ferrell, Phil Perry, Lena Horne, BeBe & CeCe Winans, The Whispers, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Peabo Bryson, MC Hammer, Jesse Campbell, Melba Moore, B Angie B, Spearhead, Bones, Thugs & Harmony, Tracie Spencer, The Beastie Boys, Richard Marx, Duran Duran, Crowded House, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Grace Jones.
I am a classically trained pianist and was the former vocalist for L.A. Jazz band, Universe, which included members: Larry Ball; Louis Ball, Garryck King, Derf Recklaw, Michael Baldwin, Ray Fuller and the late Ron Muldrow).
My in-depth studies in Recording Arts at UCLA Extension provided me an opportunity to teach "The Business Aspects of a Record Company" and "Record Production" at the California State Prison for Men at Chino on behalf of UCLA Extension's Arts-Reach program, in conjunction with the Department of Corrections.
I was the exclusive editor for "The Slave Side of Sunday," written by former NFL player, Anthony Prior; "Heaven Is Real" by Minister Tony Davis; and "50/50 Split" by author Rick Mizuno.
