It's all about Me. Thinking of myself as I or Me creates a feeling of separation and alone-ness that is unnecessary and creates hardship and despair. A lot of problems drop away when we drop the "Me" from our thinking. This stance also leads toward a more enlightened and joyful way of thinking.
