  Paul Anderson - Strongest Man In The World...His Greatest Lift --- Generations
  

  The CyberHood Watch partners enjoyed an hour with Drew Read talking about the Paul Anderson, the "World's Strongest Man" and the last USA gold medal Olympian for weightlifting.
  
  Paul founded the Paul Anderson Youth Home (PAYH.org) the last chance for troubled teens. If you remember "Boys Town" and Father Edward Flanagan, then you'll have a better understanding what Paul's ministries are about; helping troubled youths.
  
  Drew shared a great deal of insight with what parents and children face today, and how technology plays into the lives of our children. If parents don't take an active role in the lives of their children, especially with the tsunami of information and technology that has been dumped on our children, we are going to cause them a great deal of heartache. Parents are already struggling trying to keep their children safe online and offline, and children unsupervised is a recipe for disaster.

  Something that Drew shared about technology and the habits, which are subtle, but yet, could further deteriorate the parent/child relationship even further, should not go unnoticed.
  
  Drew created a scenario of his own child, who plays on the Disney site, "Club Penguin". The site is geared for young children, where they can participate and become familiar with the virtual online social world. They can participate in safe chat rooms, the virtual world, and social interaction. Club Penguin creates a habit, which eventually the youngster out grows, and desires more interaction. Understandably, they outgrow Club Penguin and want to move onto more mature sites with less constraints, pulling our children further away and less interaction with parents.
  
  Parents already feel tech-paranoid, and they have already steered their children into the virtual world alone because they feel inadequate with the technology, and it has also become an entertainment device to babysit their child, allowing them to grab a few moments for themselves. Get involved with your child's online virtual world - ask them to show you how.
