Winn Schwartau, Founder

Biography
As a well-respected keynote speaker, seminar leader and author about numerous topics concerning information security and electronic privacy, Winn Schwartau has used his expertise in the field to create and build corporate security awareness programs, as well as provide consulting services to multinational organizations and governments. In 2006, Schwartau founded SCIPP International with the vision of raising and validating the security awareness of enterprise end-users on a worldwide scale.
Sometimes referred to as “the civilian architect of information warfare,” Schwartau has vast experience in the subject of information warfare and has written a number of books and contributing articles dedicated to this area. In 1994, he created InfowarCon, a world-renowned annual conference on critical infrastructure protection, cybersecurity and counter-terrorism.
Prior to starting SCIPP, Schwartau founded such companies as Trusted Learning Corporation, an online global educational system that permits any organization to rapidly open its own learning centers; Interpact, Inc., a developer of information security awareness programs for private, public and government organizations; and NiceKids.Net, Inc., a cyber-ethics Web site for kids, parents, families and teachers.
Schwartau has testified before Congress and advisory committees as an expert in information security and has appeared regularly on various U.S., European and Asian television shows, as well as hundreds of radio shows and dozens of documentaries nationwide.
Dow Williamson, Executive Director
Dow Williamson, CISSP, serves as executive director for SCIPP International, a global non-profit organization whose mission is to develop, deliver, and manage world-class security awareness training and certification programs to end-users, consumers, and organizations. Williamson brings to SCIPP more than 20 years of experience in information security, education and certification, and information technology for governments and businesses worldwide. As executive director, Williamson designs, develops and implements strategic plans for SCIPP and is also responsible for the day-to-day operations, including managing the advisory board and staff, and developing business plans in collaboration with the board of directors for the future of the organization.
Prior to SCIPP, Williamson served as director of corporate development at (ISC)2 where he was responsible for all aspects of global business development, product development and market development for the $20 million-plus non-profit consortium.
Preceding his employment at (ISC)2, Williamson was vice president of marketing at Trusted Computer Solutions, Inc. where he crafted and executed global marketing and business development strategy, negotiated strategic business alliances and partnerships, and directed international sales efforts and reseller relationships.
Previously, Williamson held senior management positions at RSA Security, Inc. and Sun Microsystems, Inc., and was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Department of Defense, serving in numerous capacities.
Williamson holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science/mathematics from Norwich University, a master’s of science in space operations from the University of North Dakota, and a master’s of business administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He also holds the CISSP credential.
