Dave and Bill feel a very special responsibility in sharing our guests advice, opinions, insights and experiences. It’s our hope that our guests will inspire our CyberHood Watch audience to become active in their local neighborhoods and participate with and learn from their children on how to use the internet safely.

 

In this process of learning to use the internet safely, parents will be a focal point in the teaching of their children. In this ever-changing New Net-Generation… called the CyberHood, we all find ourselves in the dawning of a brand new decade, and one that requires us to all be good citizens online as well as offline.

 

What does it mean to be a Responsible CyberCitizen? Being aware of what information we post about ourselves and others online, how we treat others online, and watching out for others while they are online.

    CyberHood Watch meets with Ken Shallcross Director of Media and Public Relations for Pandora Corporation to share with our listeners what's available to protect their children and young teens while on the Internet.

    If you've listened to our previous shows, ED McGarr; past VP of Marketing/Sales and all product development for Novell and then VP for Marketing/Sales for Senforce, Nancy McBride; National Safety Director of NCMEC, Lauren Ayers; Author of "How To Protect Kids From Child Molesters" and most recently Somanjana C. Bhattachanya, Public Relations & Communications Division for www.Love146.org - End Internet Trafficking (EIT) all have suggested one technology that could help and that is monitoring software.

    PC Pandora is just that monitoring software that works like a DVR for your PC. By recording and taking sequential snapshots of what is on the computer screen, it enables parents to see exactly what their children saw – and did. In addition, it has all the features that other programs utilize, such as website filtering, program blocking, keystroke logging, and it will even email a busy parent at work with updates on their child’s activity.

    The new PC Pandora 5.0 builds upon its established first-rate monitoring capabilities and tosses a few new tricks into the bag, including a new webcam capture, chat control blocking, search query recording and file/document tracking. They have also given the user interface a makeover and improved the fundamental stealth tactics and database technologies.
