Carolyn LeCroy, recently featured as a CNN “Hero of the Week” joins Tony Regusters to talk about her personal experiences in prison that led her to start the Messages Project to help children stay connected with their incarcerated parents. The Messages Project visits six state prisons in Virginia three times a year to record video messages from incarcerated parents, which are mailed to their children. Since she launched the project in 1999, Carolyn her and volunteer camera crews have recorded roughly 3,000 video messages, stories, poems and wishes from inmates.
