Over 10,000 American Indian/Alaskan Native children are in foster care—a figure that often reflects a disproportionate number of children in care compared to their numbers in the general population. Although tribal communities are over-represented in the foster care, they lack adequate and reliable funding. “On-the-Line” with CWLA examines the concerns, the challenges, and the efforts to improve policies and increase funding for child welfare services in tribal communities.
