Join Lucy Ann Moll as she talks with New York Times best-selling author Cec Murphey , whose new book When a Man You Love Was Abused, A Woman's Guide to Helping Him Overcome Childhood Sexual Molestation beams light into the darkness of the sex abuse of boys. . .who now are men, often suffering poor self-worth, sometimes self-medicating with alcohol or other addiction, and almost always scared to tell a soul.

One in every six males has had unwanted or abusive sexual experiences before age 16. This is a conservative estimate. The abuse is almost always by a person, a male or female, whom the boy knows. In When a Man You Love Was Abused, Cec shares his own abuse (leaving out graphic details) at about age 7 by an old man who rented a room in his family's home and at about age 3 by a female relative.

He also details his recovery of how he learned to trust, to feel, to handle flashbacks, and to keep boundaries. He tells the stories of men who were abused and of important women in their lives -- primarily wives and also mothers -- and how they made peace with the past.
