Charlotte View is proud to present Citizen Advocate for the Wrogfully Convicted, Joan Treppa. We are joining forces with this extraordinary woman to support the mission of the Voice of Innocence and the Innocence Project of Minnesota (and nationwide). The crucial element that makes her story so miraculous and fascinating is that Joan does not have a legal background but she still took up a cause via a specific wrongful conviction case from Green Bay, Wisconsin that she learned about through reading a book.

In a span of close to six years, Joan played an integral part in initiating an eventual change in the outcome of this case by compelling a large law firm to file a 152-page motion on behalf of the lead suspect. There were six defendants originally and one of them has been exonerated but the other five are still in prison and had served twenty years.

“I’ve finally come to the realization that my mission in life must be to provide a voice of hope for those who are forgotten as well as a voice of inspiration for all others to remember.” Joan Treppa
