Brandon started showing signs of Cushing's somewhere between age 9 and 11. To look at pictures of him in 2nd grade and 4th grade you would think they were two different kids. He started gaining weight like crazy, and no matter how much he dieted and exercised he couldn't lose it. He even tried a years worth of actual Navy entrance training and Atkins, and nearly ended up in the hospital from not eating carbs! He has always had mood swings and depression, at least for as long as he can remember, and always tired. Now he has back problems and leg cramps that keep him up at night, even when he takes sleep aids. Brandon is testing for Cushing's now.
