History: The Garden State Film Festival was born in 2002 after a chance encounter in a Sea Girt, NJ Grocery store by 25 year film industry veteran Diane Raver and the well known Hollywood actor Robert Pastorelli. Through his deep ties to Hollywood, Mr. Pastorelli and Ms. Raver were able to bring an all encompassing event to the State of New Jersey. Since that time, industry notables such as Glenn Close, Frank Vincent, Batman producer Michael Uslan, Austin Pendleton, Kurtwood Smith, James Gandolfini, Budd Schulberg and others have lent their support. Our event is held on an annual basis in the spring of each year at the Paramount Theater/Convention Hall complex, in Asbury Park, New Jersey and surrounding areas. Actor & Director Tommy Colavito "West of Brooklyn" takes us on a heartfelt and often humorous journey from Brooklyn, New York to Hollywood, California. "Sebi" is a young Italian American man, a simple street kid and a secret beat poet, who after the death of his mother escapes Brooklyn to join his crew of friends who recently relocated to L.A. These colorful characters from New York are truly fish out of water in L.A. and Sebi longs to find a place he can feel at home. Sebi's friends, a beautiful rich girl from Beverly Hills named "Matty", and his idol, a famous Bronx poet named "Gaetano D'Amico" bring Sebi face to face with his identity and help him find the courage to be exactly who he was all along. Written by Ronnie Marmo "Limbo Lounge" When a con man (Silas) unexpectedly dies during a scam, he is forced to spend a little time in Limbo. There, he encounters his old girlfriend (Anya) who offers him a fast-track to the 'good life' in the upper management of Hell. But in order to "earn his horns", Silas must corrupt the soul of an innocent person (Jules) back in the real world.
