btr-Ria As a native Colombian raised in Miami, Ria has been performing since the age of 3. Her musical childhood consisted of private training, recitals, concerts, and various talent shows around town. At age 17, she was granted a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. While at Berklee, her performance and songwriting talents where not only admired, but also further cultivated. She shared the stage with Grammy winners such as all time Jazz vocalist and musical theater icon Dee Dee Bridgewater, renowned salsa icon Ruben Blades and legendary female rock artist Melissa Ethridge. After completing her Bachelors in Songwriting and Performance at Berklee, Ria began to work on her first debut album. She then returned to Miami and quickly began to create a buzz with her song “Change” which placed her on TV and a national radio by 2008. She has recently released her contagious first CD single “Alright”, which has already begun to hit airwaves and has quickly taken over the international market. She is due to release her self-titled album—RIA, for summer of 2010.
