JOIN US THIS SUNDAY AS WE TALK WITH RITA WILLIS, FROM THE HISPANIC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND DIRECTOR OF NEW SHOES FOR BACK TO SCHOOL MINISTRY.

September 3, 2012 —Now in its sixth year, The “NEW SHOES FOR BACK TO SCHOOL” MINISTRY of The Richmond Partnership of Churches has outgrown the Belle Hall of Third St. Bethel A.M.E. church at 614 North Third St. Thus, the doors of the new venue, Second Baptist Broad Rock Blvd., will open its doors at 8:00 a.m. to host the Shoe Ministry, as we give away thousands

of pairs of new shoes for school age students, grades K-12, returning to a new academic school year. The Ministry began in 2007 when 712 pairs were given to anxious students, accompanied by their parents/guardians from the city of Richmond and its surrounding environs, and it has grown to a total of 20,912 pairs of new shoes given - six years later.

When Pastor Hodge of Second Baptist Broad Rock Blvd. was approached about hosting the Shoe Ministry at Second Baptist Broad Rock Blvd., a former grocery store, he said that it would be an honor to do so, as he has observed the Ministry over the years and has seen the fruits of our labor of love for our young people. We are ever so grateful to the Second Baptist Broad Rock Blvd. family for opening its doors to The Shoe Ministry.
