    Date / Time:

    the Fairy Godmother Initiative

Crusader Radio is sponsoring The Fairy Godmother Initiative.  We will be collecting gently used, dry cleaned, formal and semi-formal dresses and accessories now through March 31st, 2008.  We will be holding a Dress Boutique on April 12, 2008 where students of local Connecticut High Schools were able to come choose a prom dress for FREE.

This is the first event of this type, held by a school here in Connecticut and we want to make sure we have a successful event.  The rising costs of attending prom and the costs of purchasing a dress, shoes and accessories can easily run as much as $500. By giving girls a chance to obtain a prom dress for free, we'd be allowing girls to attend their proms feeling beautiful, confident and included.

The average girl will wear 2 to 4 formal dresses during her high school years. The average prom dress retail prices is between $75 and $250.  The average prom ticket price is $60 per person. Throw in transportation and all the other stuff you need and prom turns out to be a very expensive celebration to attend.

So help us make a difference, donate a dress.  For more information visit our website www.fairygodmother.weebly.com or call 1-203-877-2786 ext 147
