Today I'm working on a program that I'm giving in Virginia in September. The program is on subgingival air polishing, yes polishing in the pockets around the teeth affected by periodontal disease. As I was searching through my resources I come across this article, totally unrelated: Role of dental plaque, saliva and periodontal disease in Helicobacter pylori infection and remembered that there is a lot of science linking H. pylori to oral biofilm. Studies have looked at the correlation of ulcer treatment concurrent with periodontal treatment, with promising results.

Today’s program looks at the studies about recurrent stomach ulcers and periodontal infections and how to approach your oral health care provider for help in reducing this insidious infection.Cross Link Radio, health from the eye teeth on down. I’m here to help you understand some of the mysteries of health from the perspective of the oral health care provider, that’s me, Shirley Gutkowski. I’m a clinical dental hygienist. I’m in the prevention mode, helping you keep your health at its optimum by bringing a wide variety of guests with the information you want to know.
