In a recent article in the New York Times points out that between 2007 and 2012 there had been a 3 fold increase in medication shortages. We're not talking asprin, we're talking live saving and live sustaining medications like nitroglycerine and cancer drugs that forces doctors into horrible situations. They have to find alternatives that may not work as well, or that is a place holder until the right medication comes along. This is costly because people will need to be in treatment for so much longer.

Why do we have to be at the mercy of the big pharma and doctors? Can leading a healthier life eliminate the need for the medications? Do we have enough information on preventing cancer and other problems so we won’t have to rely on medications?

Those are the topics I’ll be pondering today on Cross Link Radio.
