Amy DiBasilio M.Ed., HC., is a holistic health coach, wellness educator and mom of three. Whe works with busy families to help them to overcome the obstacles keeping them from wellness. On our first show with Amy she revealed the many names for sugar and how hard it is to know if there is sugar added to packaged and processed foods.  Today Shirley Gutkowski and Amy will dig a little deeper into the world of label reading and marketing so that food shopping becomes easier.  It's all about know what to look for on the labels like how many portions  or servings are in the can or package. For instance if a can of soup says 700 mg of sodium and there are 2 servings in the can that means that consuming the whole can gives you 1400 mg of sodium.  Either way it's too much sodium, but there is a huge difference between 700 and 1400 mg. and the point is some of these tactics are misleading.

How many ingredients are too many?  And does your body recognize processed foods as food?

Join us today for this lively discussion, we want to help take some of the mystery and overwhelm out of food shopping for yourself or your family.
