Answers to emergency dental care as treatment

What is the answer to dental care for those uninsured or without a job? Is there an easy answer? Probably. Dental hygienists are underutilized in health care. With more information on the systemic effects of oral health in the news, we have to look at dental hygienists as an answer to this crazy problem. 

Kathy Hartley, RN triage phone nurse talks about what she sees in the ER, and the types of calls she takes and what she thinks is an answer to patients with dental problems in the ER. She also has some good ideas about preventive care as well. Her brother is currently in the broken system, losing teeth to radiation treatments for cancer of the head and neck.
