What Does the Bible Say About the Benefits of Speaking in Tongues

Why are some people so passionate about the gift of speaking in tongues while others oppose it?  Why did Apostle Paul say he spoke in tongues more than them all?  Does the Bible say tongues unlock mysteries?  Benefit the speaker?  Benefit the congregation?  Benefit the lost?  Bring healing to our spirit, soul and body?  Enhance our prayer power?  Charge up our most holy faith?  Build up the body of Christ?  Enable us to witness with more power?  Give messages from God to others in their language?  Pray effectively without natural knowledge?
