The Cristina Marrero Show tackles issues from gender stereotypes, discrimination outside/inside the LGBTQ community, and other causes dear to my heart. While the show is meant to inform the public on social issues, I also utilize it to promote unknown LGBTQ artists (along with heterosexual artists) who are talented, and yet, unrecognized by main stream media. Don't be fooled, we may wonder, but there is always profound conversation. No matter what, I can guarantee, there is always humor on my show. Check it out, take a listen, and see for yourself! -Cristina Marrero

Obviously, blood does not have an orientation, but, when it comes to blood donation, the FDA thinks otherwise. Join me as I address the FDA's ban on any males who have had sex with other males. It's wrong, outdated, and the time has come for change.

Dear Listeners,
I have been away due to bad reception at my current college institution and a busy schedule. I have been attending the University of West Florida since January of 2009 as a Interdisciplinary Humanities: Philosophy and Politics Major. My schedule has been hectic, to say the least, and thus my absence these past few months.
Though I have been MIA, I am planning to coming back full force and better than ever! While at UWF I have been exposed to many different theories, views, and even extremist Bible thumpers (You know the ones who claim to be Christian, but are the exact opposite of what Christianity is about? The ones who come to your school and seem to NEVER leave?). My horizons have expanded, and my theories matured. With that said, I hope you join me on May 16, 2009, as I begin to tackle the issues of safe schools for queer youth. I attempted to present this information in a speech for one of my classes, but realized this was much more than a 6 minute constriction could hold. This topic deserved more time, more light, more explanation. When we speak on Gay rights, or to be politically correct LGBTQ rights, we tend to put all our focus on the issues of same sex marriage. I greatly believe that there is a much bigger issue at hand: Safe schools for our queer youth.
For the last 14 or 15 years of my life I have lived in Orlando, FL. I was pampered by the more liberal environment of Central Florida. I thought the schools were bad there until I moved to the Bible belt. Let me paint the situation for you. Pensacola is located directly under Alabama. Even the MCC (Gay friendly, gay loving, gay accepting church started after Stone Wall) church in Pensacola is a bit on the conservative side (There is nothing wrong with that. The church is still very loving, open and safe). There is a church on every corner and every now and again you see people on street corners shouting out things such as: "Buddha will not save you!". It is not exactly the most conducive environment for queer children trying to understand themselves. While here I have met native Pensacolians who have shared their stories of being ridiculed, threatened, harassed, and even punished for their sexual orientation or support for those who identify as queer youth. These individuals have inspired me to see the truth, and come to know that the issue we ALL must address as human beings is safer schools for our children.
Depending on schedules, I may, or may not, have a guest on the show, but I hope you join me on May 16, 2009, as I explore this complex issue. If you would like to email me any info or share your personal story with me before the show airs, than please contact me at cristinamarrerobooks@lycos.com. This is a Pilot Episode, and If successful, I will make this a reoccurring show on my channel.
Together, we can end the violence and harassment our children face. We can save our children from needless mental anguish, physical pain, and in some cases, even death. We can create a safe learning environment so our children may prosper. Join me as I begin to open a discourse about the fight for our children's lives.
