CREE w/ Richard Lawrence

The goal of this program is to "make it plain;"  to put into perspective the recent developments in the world of professional basketball in context with the signal moments of athletes such as Muhammad Ali, Tommie Smith, John Carlos, Curt Flood, and others.

Richard Lawrence, a sports business professional, will join us to discuss the counter-racist implications of this season's NBA lock-out and tentative contract changes between the virtually all-black players and the virtually all- white team owners.  The white people who call themselves "English"  poularized the dictum, "The devil is in the details."  And, most CREE listeners know who that devil is in relation to balck people.

Mr. Lawrence will take us through the tentative changes in the collective bargaining agreement CBA) for the year that followed the historic decision by LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh to go to the Miami Heat without Racists' (white supremacists') permission.
