The Rev. Laura Truax is pastor of LaSalle Street church in Chicago, Illinois. Set in the vortex of America's economic landscape (The Gold Coast on one side, the former Cabrini Green Housing Project on the other), Laura's congregation includes CEOs of multi-million dollar corporations, and people such as Steve, a starving artist living under an overpass who spends his days doodling cartoons and creating amazing paintings that draw awes, but no dollars. This is urban ministry. And Laura has a front-row seat. In this episode, she describes the amazing microcosm that is her congregation, and the lessons coming from it that may hold the key to the unlocking the strength of America's congregations.
