In 1918, Congress began investigating Communist infiltration into American society.  One Senator stated:

“The Soviet Government has its enthusiasts throughout the land and throughout the world, but who in this hour is preaching Americanism and the great fundamental principles of Americanism in this country?  They held a meeting at the Poli Theatre.  The League to Enforce Peace will begin its campaign in Boston on the 6th day of February and if they succeed they will ultimately land us precisely where the Bolshevists would land us, and that is under the control of internationalism.  They would tear down the fundamental principles of this republic just as successfully in the end and just as efficiently as the men who met at the Poli Theatre.”

From 1918 and into the 1970's, Congress has investigated what became known as the Red Scare.  Testimony has shown the depths of Soviet infiltration, espionage, and revolution.

This period of history is largely forgotten lest American's realize the deception of the Communists and its sympathizers.
