Call in to speak with the host
Kyriece De Vine, also known as, “Yung Rere” is a 17-year-old R&B singer born in Mount Holly, New Jersey and raised in St. Joseph, Missouri. Rere accepted the call to music at an early age, singing in the church youth choir at the First Baptist Church of Elwood, Kansas and writing her own songs in the second grade. Growing up admiring artists such as Stevie Wonder at the age of 12, Rere decided that she wanted to begin playing the piano. Without having one piano lesson Rere was able to play many songs by just sitting and listening. In 2007, Rere was mesmerized by the power of music! Smitten with the now former girl group Destiny’s Child, Rere decided that she too wanted to create a group. With the help of her two little sisters Kiara and Kaelon De Vine that group was soon born as “Jesus Lil Souljahz”. They caught the eye of many churches appealing to young people for their hip-hop style with a Christian message. Performing all over the St. Joseph and North Kansas City area people began to take notice of the three sisters. In 2008, the St. Joseph, Missouri chapter of the NCAAP awarded “Jesus Lil Souljahz” with the award of outstanding youth and Rere was nominated for the same award twice for a song she had written for a school project! August of 2011, the sisters decided that music just wasn’t for all three of them and “Jesus Lil Souljahz” came to a split. That didn’t stop Rere, she was determined to be heard and to make music that the world could listen to. Rere made a decision to go with her first love and sing R&B music. Just to experiment, she started posting videos of her singing on YouTube and soon began to develop a following on YouTube and Twitter. As of now Yung Rere is putting things into the works and at 17-years-old she is writing her own lyrics and music, and working on her debut EP “Just Getting Started” coming very SOON!
