Delay In Getting My Show Up and Running

I as hoping by now that I would have my new show up and running. But with  the amount of speaking engagements adn delivering of workshops I've be weighed down.

However... in the meantime I've been listening to Martin Wales and Steve Harrison on the subject and I'm glad I didn't launch.

Their information is great and gives you some detailed intell that you wouldn't have thought of yourself.

Like sponsorship, interviews and much more.

But I'm glad to say that the format I'm working on will be a good one and will have listeners entertained and educated at the same time.

So watch this space for an update.

    The Past Leaves Clues

The past tells us lots of things which we forget as time goes by. So recently, went back in time to look through some old material, I had been collecting for years.

Yes it may have been old but it's just as relevant today as it has always been.

The material is timeless and when I looked back at those people who originally created the works, these people have long since left this earth... but their body of work still remains.

They've left clues to business success and now it's just a matter of reading or re-reading that material.

I was blown away at how good it is. I thoroughly enjoyed reading through and I think as a matter of course that we as business owners need to revisit the past often to pick up the clues to success that these past masters have left
    for us.

Delivered a talk for women in business

I delivered a talk recently for an organisation for women business owners.

It was a blast and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

After the event, it got me thinking... why have a segment on my show on
women business owners. More and more women are becoming self-employed
and in some quarters outperforming the men.

What are your thoughts? What sort of content would you like to hear, on this
    particular show?

Women have a slightly different perspective, when it comes to doing business
and it could something that we can all learn from.

    Let me what you think.

What A Financial Roller Coaster It's Been Over The Last Few Weeks - Branding Will Be MORE Important

I was 42 last Friday and on my birthday I delivered a talk in Birmingham, England. Afterwards my wife and I went out for a meal to celebrate my 42 years.

Over dinner we both commented on how surprised we were by how the financial news had bounced off my small audience of 15. It was great... they weren't going to let the events of the past week get to them. Bravo!!

It's true, it you listen to something often enough, you will start to believe it. Yes, it's the worst financial crisis I can remember, much worst than the recession of the early 90's. But most pulled through that. In my mind having that same attitude "let's work through this" approach will be more important now than it was just over a decade ago.

I've been working harder these past 4 weeks to keep the momentum going, and think it'll be the same for many other business owners around the UK. In fact around the world.

Personal Branding is going to be SO important over the next 12 to 18 months. Those businesses who can be clearly identified by their brand in 18 months time will reap a harvest so plentiful... that they'll think Christmas has come every single day!

It's going to be that rewarding. Yes it will take time to achieve, no you won't become an over night success. And yes... it will enable you to attract more, WIN more and profit more.

For instance... where we dined, was great. It was just as I remembered the last time I was there three years ago. But this time it was MUCH busier. My wife enjoyed the experience. Especially the mix of indian and R 'n' B playing in the background. It was a really jazzy place to be that night and I would suspect, if I was there most nights, it would be that busy most of the time. We loved it!

The owner understood, brand. He knows how important, brand is and will be for his business. And it was paying off for him. There was a queue to get a table, there was a buzz in the restaurant.

People are still spending and they'll continue to spend if they can see the value. Of course many will be holding off the amount they will spend. But what business there is... we'll have to work a little harder, stay up a little longer and explore a few more ways to win business. One of those should be building your brand.

There's lots of stuff out there on branding. One is by Peter Montoya - The Brand Called You. It's really good. It does take a while to get to the meat, but I understand why he takes his time to get to the particular things you and I can do to build our personal brand.

But... I really enjoyed it and... it makes sense.

As I heard the great Jim Rohn say 9 or 10 years ago now when I saw him in Dallas. "Make sure what you finally do is a product of your own conclusion".

So seek out more stuff on branding and once you're clear on what needs to happen go ahead and do it. No one person has all the answers, so seek many others who can help you with your personal brand.

Audio And Video As A Marketing Tool

Video... (even though it's old news in the internet marketing world) still has a lot of work to do until people start stciking up video on their sites.

I'm going to interview online marketin experts on these two subjects, so they spill the beans and open up on what can be achieved by adding audio and video to websites and pages. Stay tuned :o)

Networking as a topic for a show?

I delivered a talk last night in Essex UK and it went great. it was on Effective Networking. I got speaking with one of the delegates at the end and told her about my pending online radio show.

She was blown away about the idea of a having a talk show and she suggested having a topic on networking. What do you think?

I'd welcome your thoughts on what topics you would like to hear on a show that will give you the in's and out's of low and no cost marketing.

Like getting referrals, attracting more leads to your business, copywriting and all manor of wealth building. What else would you like to learn about? Let me know.

I'm collecting some great content for the shows

As I speak with current and pass clients the material I'm collecting for future shows begins to grow .

My co-host has been firing loads of ideas that he thinks you would like, so you'll going to have a REAL treat when you listen in. But I'll let you be the judge of that.

Something for you to take a look at... as you surf on the web you tend to find some wonderful marketing on other peoples site. Today was no different. I can across 'Widgets'.

Take a look at these two sites I've been reading and see for yourself.

You'll be able to learn about and use widgets on your own sites, if you aren't already.
