I live in N IL and they die out (except queen) each late Fall frost. Get only to 5000 per hive here max; down S. in SE USA the hive survives winters and is 100,000 of them !

Yesterday, I disturbed by accident a yellow-jacket wasp nest in a pile of leaves - 3 stings - for about 2-3 hrs, this poison in my body caused me to get distorted mentally and more prone to anger actions.
