What does your retirement picture look like? Are you on track to retire comfortably at your target age or will you join the millions of other Americans who say they are postponing their retirement? According to the Labor Department, the percentage of Americans over 65 who are still in the workforce is at a record high.
Poor performance of long-term investments, job loss and/or reduction in income, lack of confidence in Social Security, and concerns over rising health care costs have all contributed to Americans choosing to stay at work longer.
In the June 12 episode, Your Money, Your Matters welcomes special guest Chris Buford, regional insurance director for the CUNA Mutual Group. Buford and Your Money, Your Matters radio personalities Rick Grady and Linda Webb-Manon, Texas Credit Union League; Todd Mark, Consumer Credit Counseling Services, and Courtney Moran, Texas Credit Union Foundation, will discuss the “four pillars of retirement” as identified by the AARP: social security, affordable health care, pensions/retirement savings plans and supplemental earnings.
