Randye Kaye is the author of Ben Behind His Voices: One Family’s Journey from the Chaos of Schizophrenia to Hope (Rowman & Littlefield, 2011). She is a Connecticut State Trainer for the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental illness) Family-to-Family program and speaks frequently to audiences about the process of and dealing with the challenges - including stigma - when mental illness strikes a loved one, as well as other mental health topics.  Her son, Ben, is currently on the Dean's List at college and works part-time. He has come a long way from the days of long hospitalizations.  Randye also addresses faith communities about ways to support families in their midsts who are dealing with mental illness in a loved one. This number that is larger than you may think, as one in four families faces this challenge.
